Protecting your computer

browser Computers connected to the Internet are vulnerable to worms, viruses, spyware, and hacker attacks. Carefully monitor the programs installed on computers connected to the Internet. Many adware, spyware, and virus programs are installed by the users or their family members. To protect the computers connected to the Internet, we strongly recommend the use of a firewall and virus protection. There are many free and commercial programs that provide anti-virus, spyware, and firewall protection.

Computers using the Windows XP or Vista operating systems have a free firewall program as part of their security features. An antivirus program such as AVG will still be needed to protect the computer from viruses. Users should also make sure that software updates for their computer are set to run either automatically or at regularly scheduled periods. Microsoft and Apple regularly release security patches for their software.
