What is Identity Theft?

Identity theft occurs when a users personal information including but not limited to social security, credit card, and bank account numbers are used without permission to commit fraud or other crimes. It can occur due to your personal informaiton being changed, stolen, or reported inaccurately. Being a victim to identity theft can lead to serious consequences such as denial of loans to due negative informaiton on your credit report.
